Chorus Members Needed!

The Coliseum Theatre is looking for you if you are female aged between eight and fifteen years old and talented at singing, acting and dancing.

We are looking to recruit two teams of eight girls to perform in this years pantomime, Mother Goose.

This is a fantastic opportunity to appear in a professional theatre production. You will work with the director, choreographer, backstage crew and actors to help put together a great production. Along the way we guarantee you will have lots of fun and make new friends.

Auditions will take place on the 28th September at the theatre. Please ask your parent or guardian to call 0161 624 1731 and speak to Anne-Louise to reserve your place.

Auditions will be held in height order so please have your details ready when you call.

Here’s what last years teams had to say:

“Thank you for letting me be in the chorus and I’ll try again next year”

“I love being on the stage and everyone’s lovely”

“I love seeing how the show comes together”

“Everyone in the audition room was smiley and calm”

“The best bit about panto is meeting friends I love them all, it’s been the highlight of my year”

“It’s the best fun ever! We meet lots of new friends and have fun!!”

Backstage Tours

After a sell out series of Backstage Tours last season, we’ve scheduled more dates for the new one. Led by House Manager David Rustidge, a human repository of knowledge about the Oldham Coliseum, you will be transported back in to the theatre’s hay day with stories and anecdotes. You’ll also get a sneak peak into areas of the theatre the public seldom get to see.

Date are:

19th September at 11.30am and 1.30pm

10th October at 11.30am and 1.30pm

28th November at 11.0am only

13th February at 11.30am and 1.30pm

Numbers are limited and places need to be booked at the Coliseum box office

NB: Talks about the Coliseum can also be booked through the House Manager David Rustidge

Announcing the cast of Mother Goose

It may be (somewhat) summery outside, but seeing the cast of this year’s panto, the classic Mother Goose,  is sending a Christmassy shiver down my spine!

Fine Time Fontayne is back as Mother Goose, Amy Rhiannon Worth is Colin Goose, Andonis Anthony is the Demon of Discontent, Patrick Bridgman is the King of Gooseland, Linzi Matthews is Fairy Feathers, Nicole Evans is Jill and Richard Flether is Billy Goose.

Some of you may remember Fine Time Fontayne as the Widow Twanky in our last panto – Aladdin. The photographs of him in his “Amy” costume still brings a smile to my face!

Kevin Shaw talks about our new season

It’s with a little sadness that we wished goodbye and goodluck to the lovely cast of Martha, Josie and the Chinese Elvis.

However, as we all know good things come to those who wait… and it couldn’t be more welcome than a brand new season at the Oldham Coliseum. Why not have a look round our equally new website to see what wonderful shows we have on offer?

Alternatively, you could watch this specially produced video where Kevin Shaw, our Executive and Artistic Director, talks about the great selection of shows that are in store for the lucky theatre goers of Oldham.
