Theatre Experience Days

Theatre experience days are a unique opportunity for your class to take a look behind the scenes at how a theatre really works. This day introduces pupils to all aspects of the producing house theatre, including backstage tours, marketing, finance, directing and much more, we can tailor make the day to suit your pupils requirements. Theatre experience days are designed for secondary school and/or college classes.

Theatre Experience Week – October Half Term

Theatre experience week is a week long course designed for young people aged 13-16. During the week young people get the opportunity to see what happens behind the scenes at the theatre, gain a unique insight into what different departments do and get some hands on experience of their own. This week is a free week but fills up quickly so please contact the education department for an application form. Theatre experience week can also be tailored to schools as an alternative to work experience for groups of 10 or more students.

Teacher Inset Days and CPD Training

We can offer teacher inset and CPD training for teachers looking to use drama for both cross curricula work, transition projects and issue related work to support PSHE and citizenship. This training will boost confidence in teaching drama techniques and explore creating a workshop setting within the classroom.

Teacher Preview Night

Teacher Preview night is where we offer teachers the opportunity to come to the theatre, see a performance, get a back stage tour and discover ways that the Oldham Coliseum can support learning in schools.

Priority Secondary Schools Scheme

Throughout 2009/2010 we are offering schools the opportunity to become a Coliseum Priority School. This scheme provides you with a theatre package that can be tailored to your students needs and offers you and your students a unique insight into the whole workings of a professional theatre.
