Refurbishment Programme
As part of our extensive refurbishment programme for the Coliseum in 2011 we intend to reseat the auditorium.
New seating will:
• Be more comfortable;
• Give better leg room;
• Improve sightlines to the stage;
• Lead to fewer seats with a restricted view; and
• Improve the general ambience of the theatre.

We would like you to play a part in this major refurbishment project.
The Coliseum is a registered charity and we are asking you to make a donation to the theatre to support us in our refurbishment plans.
A donation of £250 is the equivalent to the cost of one of the new seats in the auditorium.
This is your opportunity to support the theatre during an exciting phase of refurbishment and celebrate 125 years of the Coliseum.
We will recognise your donation and your support by inscribing a plaque placed on one of the new seats with a message of your choice.

How the donation works
We are aiming to raise enough money to replace all of the Coliseum’s seats and we will be seeking other sources of money in addition to this 125th Anniversary Appeal.
Your donation will be used to support all aspects of the theatre’s work; from the production of plays to our extensive programme of education and outreach activity.
In recognition of your donation we will place a plaque on the seat of your choice, once the refurbishment of the auditorium is complete. The position of plaques will be allocated on a first come, first served basis!
You will be able to choose the text written on the plaque and we will keep the plaque on the seat for ten years. Please be aware that we cannot reserve the seat for your exclusive use! You may not be able to book this particular seat when you visit the Coliseum, as it will be available to all of our customers.
