See what the audience have to say about Noel Coward's Blithe Spirit at the Oldham Coliseum ( 14/05 - 06/06/2009 )
When first performed at the Savoy Theatre, London in 1941, Blithe Spirit set all manner of box-office records. Not bad for a play that Mr Coward claimed to have written in just five days during a holiday in Portmeirion.

Side splitting spooky comedy is coming to the Oldham Coliseum with Noel Cowards Blithe Spirit.
Cowards clipped tones and snappy dialogue are augmented by a beautiful set and stunning costumes, perfectly evoking the elegance of the period.
Blithe Spirit is a feather-light fantasy, featuring a hilarious struggle for affections as past and present collide with a supernatural twist.
Written in just five days during World War II Blithe Spirit is Cowards favorite creation and broke all Box Office records when first seen in 1941, including the record for the longest run of a non-musical British play. |
