John is proud to be part of the team bringing Road to the Coliseum; a play that, unfortunately, is as relevant today as when it was first performed in 1986. After 12 years of cuts to public services, austerity and the unregulated rise of the cost of living, the divide between the classes, the rich and the poor, the north and the south is felt today as deeply as it was in the mid 80’s. Cartwright’s words, as brilliant as they are, should not ring so painfully true 36 years on.
