Spending ‘Time Together’ - without the spend: the campaign to help NHS workers enjoy festive time with loved ones at no cost

This festive season the Coliseum has joined Tickets for Good's Time Together campaign, which unites venues nationwide to welcome NHS workers with their friends and family to magical live events this Christmas, thanks to tickets exclusively for NHS workers at no face-value cost.

Tickets for Good is a ticketing company with a social purpose. They enable life-enriching experiences for people in need, and the people who help them, by distributing free tickets to live events on their tech-for-good platform. By opening up access to cultural experiences, they aim to spread the benefits of social inclusion and improved wellbeing that they provide.

In 2021, Tickets for Good have helped more than 40,000 NHS workers sign up to their platform and access West End shows, internationally-renowned festivals, and live events from club nights to boxing matches with no-face-value-cost tickets. This has led to a staggering saving of over £500,000 for NHS workers attending events. They are now launching a festive season of events with tickets secured for NHS workers at venues nationwide.

To sign up to the NHS-exclusive platform, NHS workers join via https://ticketsforgood.org/nhs/
using their work email address, which Tickets for Good verifies, meaning every platform user is
an authenticated NHS worker.

The Time Together campaign highlights events which will help NHS workers enjoy much-needed time off with loved ones through live music, theatre, panto and sport. Events are already well underway with tickets available for high-profile venues and local landmarks alike, including the Oldham Coliseum's famous pantomime, The Old Vic, Leeds Grand, Chichester Festival Theatre, Sheffield Theatres, Brighton Dome and more. NHS teams will benefit from free tickets, reserved via a small booking fee costing less than a mug of festive mulled wine.

New events are added weekly with the best showcased in Tickets for Good’s Time Together recommendations.

After a tough winter in 2020 when many couldn’t spend time with friends and family, and NHS teams were faced with unprecedented challenges at work, Tickets for Good are focusing on 2021’s festive season as a chance to help NHS workers make the most of great events and experience seasonal joy without spending a fortune. From November right through to early 2022, venues will welcome NHS workers and their loved ones to enjoy quality time together throughout the festive season. Tickets for Good are hoping the nationwide campaign will ensure more NHS teams know about the benefits of their unique NHS-exclusive platform.

Steve Rimmer, CEO of Tickets for Good, said:In 2021, we quickly realised that the people who we could really help, by improving their mental wellbeing through attending live events, were NHS workers. We’ve distributed more than 15,000 tickets already this year and, as it’s the ‘season of giving’, we hope that many more NHS workers will make the most of this opportunity to explore more of the UK’s world-class arts and culture with their loved ones, and really enjoy their time together.”

While Christmas is often a time for families and groups to attend familiar favourites like panto, venues also hope that the campaign will draw attention to new theatre productions and new artists that audiences might not have otherwise considered. It’s a highly effective way for venues to ensure they are well-connected to their local communities, reaching a diversity of audiences, whilst giving back something valuable to NHS teams whose hard work has been crucial to the live events industry reopening in 2021.
