Khushi Festival Returns on Saturday 3 and Wednesday 7 August 2024!

Khushi Festival, our annual festival of happiness, is back! 

Khushi Festival showcases work made by Oldham’s South Asian communities, presenting a rich mix of events for everyone. It is free to attend and everyone is welcome.

Saturday 3 August 2024 - Oldham Library - 10:30am-5pm

Khushi Festival will be taking over Oldham Library for a day packed with performances, workshops, games, music, and, of course, happiness! Challenge your friends and family to some fun games, join us for a cup of chai, get crafty, and so much more!

The day will also include opportunities to:

  • Watch performances by The West Oldham Chai Ladies and The Indian Association.
  • Pick up a zine filled with poetry from The Werneth Primary School Chai Ladies.
  • Explore our exhibitions created by Oldham Greenhill Community Sports and Recreation Club and Yuvanis Foundation.
  • Join us for an energetic dance show by Natraj Dance Academy
  • Sit back and enjoy some South Asian inspired stories by Zoe Iqbal
  • Take part in beatboxing workshop with Faz Shah

Wednesday 7 August 2024 - Queen Elizabeth Hall- 7pm-10pm - Night For Sam

Join us at Queen Elizabeth Hall for a gig packed with singers, rappers and musicians performing  Bollywood, Bhangra, Urban Desi and more. The event features performances from both established and emerging musicians including: Hussnain Lahori, Joash, Kami Kane, Danny H, Luqy, Joga Singh, Blitz-i, RIYA, Metz and Trix, and Usman Farooqi.

Night For Sam is in honour of Sam Malik. Sam was an inspirational cultural leader, music maker and a friend to so many in Oldham. Night For Sam has been created with Sam's family and friends.
