Coliseum at the Roundabout

We are recruiting a number of staff to support both the build and the run of Coliseum at the Roundabout, a 167-seater pop-up theatre that will host an artistic programme - including a variety of live events - from April until mid-July 2024. Focusing on work made in Oldham, the Coliseum at the Roundabout will bring relevant and entertaining stories for the whole family to enjoy. 

Technical Manager (fixed term) 

The Technical Manager is responsible for all technical aspects of Roundabout throughout the run, including ensuring that the venue is adequately staffed through the recruitment and rota-ing of all casual technical staff. This role includes carrying out some of the Duty Technician calls and also holds overall responsibility for Health and Safety at the venue.

Duty Technician (fixed term)

The Duty Technician, working closely with the Technical Manager, is responsible for the smooth and efficient day to day running of all technical aspects of the programme.

Based onsite, you will be confident with the ETC lighting desk thanks to a two-day training programme provided as part of this contract. During the technical rehearsals, you will support in house productions and visiting companies with lighting and sound set up. During performances, you will be based backstage, ensuring compliance with health and safety procedures, solving technical issues behind the scenes and liaising with the FOH team.

Duty Managers (casual, up to 3 positions) 

Working closely with the Technical Manager, the Duty Managers are responsible for managing audiences and front of house operations. During performances, you will be based front of house, ensuring an excellent welcome for audiences and participants, compliance with health and safety procedures and liaising with the technical team on any technical issues.

Permanent Roles at Oldham Coliseum Theatre

Finance Manager (permanent)

The Finance Manager oversees all financial processes and supports the Interim CEO in delivering the theatre’s vision through ensuring sound financial management, including managing financial processes, VAT and payroll. They are also responsible for reporting on and maintaining the company accounts, preparing management accounts, cashflow forecasts and financial reports and analysis for the executive team and the board of trustees.

Marketing Manager (permanent)

We are looking for a creative, strategic and audience-focused Marketing Manager to lead the theatre’s marketing and press strategies. You will have proven marketing experience, a passion for the audiences present in our town, and be a big advocate for the company’s work.

Oldham Theatre Workshop (OTW) are seeking an individual to work with both OTW and the Coliseum on a freelance basis, to lead a programme of consultation and connection across Oldham’s schools and wider education settings. Findings from these consultations will feed directly into the planning of future cultural activity in the town.

Findings from these consultations will feed directly into the planning of future cultural activity in the town.
