NEW SPRING PROGRAMME OF THEATRE & EVENTS ANNOUNCED

A vibrant lineup of theatre, storytelling, and comedy is coming to intimate venues across Oldham.

Alongside the already announced production The Engagement Party, we are thrilled to announce our Spring Programme, which will bring an eclectic mix of performances to intimate venues across Oldham.

This Spring, audiences can look forward to a diverse range of shows and events hosted in accessible spaces, featuring:

  • Psyche Delight’s Mohand and Peter (Wed 29 January, 7pm – Oldham Library) – With humour and visual poetry, Mohand & Peter will take you on a road trip through Sudan.
  • Wound Up Theatre’s Tones (Wed 26 & Thu 27 February. 7pm, Oldham Library) – combining gritty underground sounds of Hip-Hop, Grime, Drill and the melodrama of Opera, to present a piece of gig theatre like no other, as Jerome, aka The Professor, navigates his way through a treacherous path to self-discovery.
  • Oldham Comedy Club (Wed 12 March, 8pm, Billingtons) An evening of top-tier stand-up to bring laughter to Oldham.
  • Debs Newbold’s King Lear Retold (Thu 20 March, 7.30pm, Billingtons) – An intimate reimagining of Shakespeare’s masterpiece.
  • Toucan Theatre’s The Naughty Fox & The Noisy Dinosaur (Wed 9 April, Billingtons) – A heartwarming interactive experience for young children and families.
  • Wake the Beast’s In the Sick of It (Wed 23 April, 7pm, Oldham Library) – A playful, political and irreverent exploration of the unspoken toll on our NHS and Healthcare Workers.

Rose Sergent, Programme Co-ordinator, said: "This Spring Programme is a celebration of the creativity and diversity of live performance. By bringing events into smaller, more intimate venues across Oldham, we’re connecting with our audiences in new and exciting ways. We’re thrilled to offer a variety of shows, from thought-provoking storytelling to family-friendly fun."

Martina Murphy, Chair of the Board of Oldham Coliseum Theatre, added: "Our Spring Programme along with our artist development schemes previously announced reflect our dedication to making theatre accessible to all and investing in the artistic future of Oldham. By supporting emerging talent and bringing incredible performances to local venues, we’re proud to play a part in enriching our community’s cultural life."

The full schedule of performances and ticket information is available here. Affordable ticket options, including Pay What You Choose pricing, ensure everyone has the chance to enjoy live theatre.

This programme of Spring work accompanies our new production announced by the theatre in November, The Engagement Party. A specially commissioned show inspired by and set in Oldham that will be performed at the Queen Elizabeth Hall this February.
