    An opportunity for people to come together to discuss art and culture in Oldham over chips and refreshments.

    Open to everyone, whether you currently engage with the Coliseum or not, Culture and Chips is a space to discuss what you’d like to see and how the Coliseum can best serve the community in the future. The Coliseum will host guests from Oldham and beyond to talk about their practice, connection to Oldham and vision for the future.

    This edition will be hosted by our Creative Director for a brand-new show for Oldham Coliseum Theatre. Amanda will be telling us a little a bit about her life in theatre and posing the question Why does the work we create and consume matter?

    Event Info

    This event will take place at Hack Oldham, 38-44 Yorkshire Street, Oldham OL1 1SE (see below for details about getting Hack).
    Tickets are free; registration in advance is essential. Ticket reservations close on Thursday 19 September at 10.00am. For bookings after this time, please contact boxoffice@coliseum.org.uk.
    Chips are served from 5.30pm, Event starts at 6.00pm.
    Under 14s must be accompanied by an adult.

    Amanda Huxtable

    Amanda has over 25 years of experience in the creative industries directing, writing, and producing and she is excited to work with our production team on our winter production.

    Amanda is a highly regarded director based in the UK. She has previously directed the well-loved production of Bread and Roses written by Ian Kershaw for Oldham Coliseum Theatre (2018) and has presented theatre and supported writers in the USA, South Africa and Venezuela.

    She is co-director of Vanitas Arts, a Digital Storytelling Production Company developing immersive digital stories, and a co-director of GeoStories, which brings audio drama, location based podcasts direct to your phone.

    Getting to Hack Oldham

    By Car There is a pay and display car park on Bradshaw Street, a few minutes’ walk from Hack. It accepts both cash and card payments. Find further parking information here

    Metrolink The nearest tram stop is Oldham Central, around 5 minutes’ walk away. Oldham Mumps tram stop is approximately 7 minutes’ walk.

    Bus Oldham Central Bus Station is about 8 minutes’ walk away. There is a bus stop on Yorkshire Street, at the bottom of St Mary’s way, a minutes’ walk from Hack. Click here to plan your journey.
