Amy Thompson is currently the Social Economist at Citi Global Insights, Citi’s thought leadership division. As a thematic researcher focused on inequalities and human rights, she has spearheaded thought leadership initiatives and engaged both businesses and investors on their societal impacts including economic and social mobility, racial wealth gaps, and the economics of philanthropy.
Following a BA in Classics and a BPhil in Philosophy, she is completing a DPhil (PhD) on the moral limits of markets at the University of Oxford where has also taught undergraduate papers in moral and political philosophy. This is her first board appointment, following a term as a school governor.
Born and raised in Oldham, and a former participant in the Coliseum’s programs for young people, she is committed to making both the joy of theatre and the doors that an arts education can open accessible for all.
