Jess Lawrence

• Title: Trainee Producer

Jess Lawrence is a trainee producer in Oldham, hoping to make a lasting impact as a part of this new era with Oldham Coliseum Theatre. She is thrilled to be embarking on this new chapter of her career, having previously trained as an actor. 

Jess is delighted to be exploring the work that goes into theatre that the audience do not often see with her work alongside Oldham Coliseum. Within her producing opportunities, Jess values her experience as an actor as she has developed a personal understanding of what it feels like to rehearse and perform shows. She enjoys incorporating this into her producing work, whilst developing an understanding of the creative team’s needs to learn how to combine these effectively to ensure projects stay within the developed schedule. 

Since beginning her producing career with Dare to Know Theatre, a local theatre company that specialises in new writing, community based work and working class theatre, Jess has created work with local talent especially for Oldham audiences. Jess promotes a sense of enjoyment, positive well-being and safety in working environments, ensuring every voice is heard as she recognises how equally important they all are. She hopes to introduce fresh perspectives to creative discussions, working collaboratively to leave both the team and audience feeling inspired.
