CREATIVE PROJECTS

Mash Up

Mash Up isn’t a competition – it’s a team, a movement. It’s about forming a new creative crew.

Every year, Mash-up brings together young people aged 18 to 25 to collaborate, learn and play. Mentored by Oldham artists, they make bold, high-quality work that pushes boundaries. It can be dance, music, drama, film, writing, digital or anything else that doesn’t fit into a box!

It’s a chance to dive into a fast-paced, high-energy week of creativity, where artforms collide, new ideas spark, and to collaborate with other artists to make something fresh, bold and completely new.

“You bring your ideas, we bring the support. We want to hear big and small ideas, new bold collabs, and a mashup of music, movement, stories, visuals and vibes — all mixed by you.”

Helen Goodman, Head of Artistic Engagement

No experience is needed – it’s about taking creative risks, trying new things, and being part of something epic.

Each artist is guided by mentors to create a three-minute performance that is powerful, polished and totally their own.

The next round of Mash-Up applications opens this Autumn.

Mash-Up is an Oldham Coliseum Theatre project, working in partnership and developed with support from Oldham Theatre Workshop, MAHDLO and Northern Roots.
